Blood Tests

Due to the current Covid situation we no longer have a phlebotomy service based in the practice. Please see below for information on the phlebotomy service at the hospital.

New Online Blood Test Appointment Booking Service - click link below

To enable the safety of patients attending Hospitals for Blood Tests, Swansea Bay University Health Board has set up an appointment system to allow patients to book themselves an appointment and maintain social distancing. This service is at Morriston Hospital, Singleton, Neath Port Talbot and Bay Field Hospital.

Please note - If you need to use public transport, we would advise booking at a main hospital site. Whilst the Bay Field Hospital has space it is not a conventional hospital: there are no wheelchairs, there is only limited disabled parking and a walk from the car park to the blood tests area is needed.

If you can’t book online you can telephone 01792 601807, Monday to Friday, between 9am and 4pm.

Specimens

Specimens can be brought to the main surgery Monday -  Friday  before 11.00 or you can take them directly to Singleton Path Lab.

Results

Please call between 2.00pm - 5.00pm to enquire about your test results as our reception staff will have more time to deal with your request between these times. There maybe times when the receptionist may not be able to answer any clinical questions and you maybe asked to call back to speak to a practice nurse.

Note that the practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and we will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.

When you take your test you will be told how long it will be before the results are returned to the practice. It is your responsibility to check your results and to make an appointment to discuss them with your doctor if your are advised to do so.
