Out of Hours Service

out of hoursCore hours for the surgery are 8.00 am – 6.30 pm Monday to Friday and the Local Health Board have responsibility for providing a service ‘Out of Hours’.

Swansea Out of Hours will therefore provide out of hours cover for our patients requiring the services of a doctor in an emergency only, from 6.30pm in the evening until 8.00am the following morning Monday to Friday, weekends from 6.30pm on Friday until 8.00am on Monday morning and during bank holidays.

If you need to see a doctor during ‘Out of Hours’ you will be asked to attend a ‘Primary Care Centre’ which is based in Singleton Hospital. Access to the Primary Care Centre is via Out of Hours and you must telephone the above number initially if you require a doctor ‘out of hours’. Patients telephoning the surgery during out of hours will be given the above number. Patients are however encouraged to contact the surgery during core hours to avoid if possible using OOH or A&E department unessecary

The Local Health Board promotes the contribution and effectiveness of education and training and encourages the development of all NHS staff as an investment for the future.  The practice will therefore be closed on the following dates throughout 2019/20 to take part in training sessions organised by The Local Health Board. Emergency cover will be provided from 1.00pm and any patient requiring treatment should telephone the surgery for contact details.
